Behaviour / SEMH Teaching Assistant - Brighton

Some pupils need more than just academic support, they need someone who can listen, guide, and help them navigate their day.

Glow Educate is working with schools across Brighton, Hove & Sussex to find compassionate, adaptable Behaviour and SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) Teaching Assistants who can be that person.

Pay: £13.69 - £14.50 per hour

The role:

  • Work closely with pupils who need additional social or emotional support

  • Help manage behaviour in a positive, consistent way

  • Support learning in the classroom and during activities like sports, art, or small-group work

  • Build trust and strong relationships with pupils and staff

You’ll need

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs

  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work as part of a team

  • Experience in SEMH or behaviour support is helpful, but not essential, the right attitude matters most
